Stryper The Final Battle Review

Stryper The Final Battle Album Cover
The yellow and the black are back for the attack! Released on October 21, 2022, "The Final Battle" is Stryper's 13th studio album of original material.

"The Final Battle" is a modern classic 80s sounding heavy rock album. Crushing guitars, great solos, mighty rhythms and massive drums. Michael Sweet sounds better than ever, with passionate and powerful vocals.

"Transgressor" is a mighty opener for the record. Michael Sweet screams are earsplitting and angelic.

"See No Evil, Hear No Evil" continues the pace along with "Same Old Story." Both are classic heavy tight riffs and catchy choruses.

"Heart and Soul" continues the pace of the album, album, album, while "Near" is a ballad. Beautiful melodies and acoustic guitars. It brings me a pang to my heart back to my high school days and what music meant to me back then.

"Out, Up and In" picks the pace back up with some rocking mountainous riffs. "Rise to the Call" has a fast riff that reminds me of the Mötley Crüe song "Too Young to Fall in Love." "The Way, The Truth, The Life" is a unique song and reminds a little of the Van Halen song "Inside" from their 5150 album.

"No Rest for the Wicked" and "Till Death Do Us Part" are solid metal rockers. Finally, "Ashes to Ashes" closes out the album. It is a kick ass song and I think definitely one of the best tracks, if not the best track.

Overall, Stryper has not lost a step. They continue putting out quality traditional metal songs. I would give "The Final Battle" four out of five stars.
