The Warning ERROR Review

The Warning is a trio of sisters from Monterey, Mexico. ERROR is their first album for a major label, Lava Records, but their third over all. Probably one of the best hard rock releases of 2022. ERROR propels the sisters brightly amongst the stars in the celestial body amidst the gods of rock.

The Warning is an astonishing new band to rock us with their brand of thrilling hard rock. The sisters are a tight musical unit, with breathtaking arrangements and smart songwriting all packaged with exquisite musicianship. They sound like a combination of Halestorm meets 80s Rush infused with some punky new wave of the late 70s to early 80s.

Here is what the sisters have to say about the album:
ERROR is an album about how we perceive the world as a generation and how we experience things in this new age - love, technology, social life, media, politics; losing our sense of humanity and everything in between.

The album kicks off with INTRO 404. It is an alluring, futuristic, and ambient short instrumental. It helps set the mood to introduce the record. Next up is DISCIPLE. It is a great catchy rock tune and arranged nicely.

CHOKE starts off with some nice vocals and guitar, then heavy guitars kick in. Great melodies and a fist pumping song. There is a skillful change to the second verse and a cool ending. Check it out!

ANIMOSITY comes in with vocals and bass. The song has a swift pace with a bitchin' guitar riff that segues into the pre-chorus. Then there is another excellent change going into the third verse. MONEY starts off with a striking vocal effect. This song showcases how the three sisters work really well together. The song is about “When we allow power and profit to take control of our lives, our natural human tendencies, like feeling empathy and compassion for one another, become lost and forgotten.” AMOUR is another breathtaking song with romantic lyrics and melodic harmonies. The song reminds me a little of early 80s rock. Some French lyrics towards the end to spice the song up a bit. This is my favorite song on the record.

EVOLVE starts off with a slick guitar riff in the intro. A nice straightforward rocker with a tinge of punk. The song is about "humanity’s dangerous obsession with evolving,” the band said. “And how sometimes that evolution leads us to slowly leave our humanity behind.

ERROR comes in with a memorable and haunting introduction. The sisters say the song is "about technology coaxing humanity for control- slowly manipulating us into giving it more and more power over us as time goes by.”

Z has a cool punky character. Kind of like Blondie, with a harder edge. Excellent guitar solo. 23 is a slow song and has an excellent guitar riff that brings the chorus back to the verse. Nice effects on the guitars and bass and drums are tight. Drummer Paulina sings this song.

KOOL AID KIDS has a sinister chugging groove and is about being brainwashed and conforming with everyone else. REVENENT is an acoustic ballad with nice chords and haunting back ground vocals and beautiful melodies. MARTIRIO is sung in Spanish. It picks up the pace again and is a good, heavy rocker. The melody reminds me of what the Italian rock band "Pooh" would explore. BREATH is a melancholy tune with a heavily chorused piano. It works as a nice outro for the record.

Overall, ERROR is an electric, high-intensity rock record. It is a special album that reflects today's world, yet will remain timeless and refreshing for generations to come.
